apple battery issue
pple slowing down old iPhones because to save batteries, After rumors, Apple has confirmed officially that they are slowing down the performance of the older iPhones to increase the battery life, recently all the iPhone user’s reported about this issue so now here is the official news from Apple.

Here’s Apple’s statement on the battery/CPU issue:

“Our goal is to deliver the best experience for customers, which includes overall performance and prolonging the life of their devices. Lithium-ion batteries become less capable of supplying peak current demands when in cold conditions, have a low battery charge or as they age over time, which can result in the device unexpectedly shutting down to protect its electronic components.
“Last year we released a feature for iPhone 6, iPhone 6s and iPhone SE to smooth out the instantaneous peaks only when needed to prevent the device from unexpectedly shutting down during these conditions. We’ve now extended that feature to iPhone 7 with iOS 11.2, and plan to add support for other products in the future.”

Why Apple slowing down old iPhones

This feature was implemented on the iPhone 6, iPhone 6s and SE last year during a software update and now rolled out to iPhone 7 with the release of ios 11.2 and this will be rolled out to the newer devices in future. Apple said it slowed down phones that have older batteries, batteries with low charge or that are cold.
Apple insists that this slowdown feature is not an example of planned obsolescence, and instead is designed to protect against battery problems and prolong the life of iPhones. But the poor communication to users of the fact that Apple considers this a feature, not a bug, has caused many to lash out at the company.

Should I Need this feature/IOS Update

Yes, if you are using Old iPhones (iPhone 4 to iPhone 6 list) with old batteries, so we know that latest IOS software update consuming more battery and it may damage the batteries and other hardware components for long run, to save the battery life you have to optimise your software/Performance, so that’s why apple rolling this feature, maybe you can feel some slowness in your iPhone than before after updating, but it is good for batteries.
